We have outlined below information which we hope will help you enjoy your visit to Ballalough House Beg ( ‘Beg’ ) regardless of whether your life is affected in some way by a medical condition, disability, impairment, or specific learning difficulty.
Prior to your arrival
Enquiries and reservations may be made by our online booking system, by letter, phone, or email.
Should you require a taxi to the ‘Beg’ from the Airport (45 minute drive) or from the Sea Terminal (35 minute drive), we would be delighted to book one on your behalf. Please let us know if you need a vehicle suitable for wheelchairs.
Directions to the ‘Beg’ will be sent on payment of your balance – 4 weeks prior to arrival.
On arrival at the ‘Beg’
We have ample parking at the front of the ‘Beg’
Entrance to the ‘Beg’ has a single step and threshold into the entrance area, and there is a single step from the inner vestibule to the main part of the ‘Beg’. A rear door has a threshold to overcome.
Inside the ‘Beg’
A majority of Floors are solid oak, with the exception of the bathroom and kitchen which are ceramic tiles and the stairs which are carpeted.
Toilets
The ‘Beg’ has its’ bathroom / toilet on the ground floor
The ‘Beg’ is fitted throughout with a smoke detection system. The alarm is audible and does not have flashing lights.
The Lounge, Kitchen, Bathroom and a twin / double room are located on the ground floor. Two further bedrooms are located on the first floor. A balcony area is located at first floor level and is accessible from either the internal or external staircases.
We do not have adapted bathrooms and there are no grab rails in the bedrooms.
Additional information
The ‘Beg’ adjoins Ballalough House, and is located within 6+ acres, which is home to a variety of wildlife. It has 2 large pond areas, and a number of copses. A number of beehives are located in the grounds, which are fully accessible to guests of the ‘Beg’.
